Measuring charge was, for hundreds of years, a hit and miss process. Elecroscopes took many forms, but measurements were quantitive in name only. The digital coulomb meter shown is a vast improvement. It will measure charges of nanocoulombs and give the sign. Just when this meter, and digital capacitance meters became available, electrostatics and capacitance were removed from the IB prescription. Thats life!
