Skydivers in three positions

The terminal velocity near ground level is 50±5 m/s for a diver in the spread out belly-down position and 90±5 m/s in a headfirst dive with feet apart. It may be possible to model divers with metal models in water. The percentage differences in terminal velocity should be compared with the data for divers in air.

Any position other than the belly-down-spread is extremely unstable and dangerous for the inexperienced. A mid air collision at 40 m/s can kill. It would be interesting to examine the fall of models in water for similar effects.
