| The diagram was put together in a simple program called Electric Hockey. A circular potential well was constructed in which a small positive charge is free to move (in simulation). In this way the tendency of the small charge to lose energy when accelerated in orbit is avoided. |

The figure was made with a screen capture movie, avoiding the fixed positive charges. Compared to the probability functions available on the web this is a cheap trick - but it does give a diagram that bridges a mental gap. |
