A model of Newton's reflecting telescope

Newton made two telescopes; one for himself, and one for the Royal Society. They were six inches long, with small silver mirrors that he made and polished himself. He was very proud of his mirrors, leaving two pages of instructions on how to polish an optical quality mirror in his famous work Optics: 1704.
