Dropping the ball in to water

The relative sizes of the image of the player when the ball is above and below the water can be compared by dragging the slider. The player appears smaller when the ball is submerged

The refractive index difference between water and rubber is less than between air and rubber. The lens has a longer focal length when submerged and a lower power.
