Waterspout

A waterspout is a tornado at sea. This remarkable image taken from an aircraft in the Bahamas near the Florida Keys, shows the direction of rotation on the disturbed surface of the water (which for tornadoes is random). Waterspouts are common in the Caribean and may be the reason that small boats sometimes go missing in mysterious circumstances in the infamous 'Bermuda Triangle'.
