A rocket engine is a reaction engine. Hot gas is expelled at very high speed and the rocket is pushed forward. A rocket motor is in continuous 'explosion'. Rockets are an excellent example of the conservation of momentum. The total momentum of fuel plus rocket remains constant (zero). |
