Parallax error |
| A parallax error may occur when a pointer is some distance from a scale. An oblique view of a pointer apparently places it at an incorrect position on a scale. Moving coil meters often have a mirror under the pointer so that a person reading the meter carefully can position their eye so the pointer obscures its image - ensuring normal viewing. |
