The kinematic equations (linear motion)

The linear kinematic equations connect displacement (s) initial velocity (u), final velocity (v) and constant acceleration (a) in the following ways...

Final velocity ...

Displacement ...

Eliminating t gives ...

The equations follow from the definitions of the variables s, v and a. They are true for all motions with constant acceleration. The first two equations can be written as vector equations and then apply to parabolic motion.

The equations can be put into angular terms.
