Electron diffraction pattern

This diffraction pattern, on the fluoresecent screen of a cathode ray tube, is direct evidence for the wave nature of the electron. Two rings can be seen corresponding to the two cubic grid spacings in a wafer of graphite. The pattern has low contrast and is difficult to photograph. Increasing the anode voltage reduces the size of the pattern.
