![]() Not bad people - just ordinary people in large numbers, burning what is cheap and plentiful. In this case coal, on the West Coast of South Island, New Zealand. The burning of fossil fuels for electricity generation and transport is adding CO2 to the atmosphere leading to increased temperatures in the polar regions. Glaciers are and permafrost melting, releasing water and methane. Sea levels are rising and the world's weather patterns are changing at an accelerating rate. Massive reforms are needed now, but the prospects are bleak. |
