Sirius A and B |

Sirius A (the brightest star in the sky) is a hot fast burning main sequence star of more than two solar masses. Sirius B is a very hot white dwarf, with the mass of the Sun and a surface temperature of 25 000 K. Sirius B was initially detected from the wobble in the position of Sirius A against the distant background. |
