Observing the Effects of Acid Rain on Seeds
Introduction:
Acid rain happens when rain in the air gets acidic. I have seen pictures of trees that have had acid rain rained on them. They look dead. In this lab, we are going to observe the effects of acid rain on seeds. I think that if we put acid on seeds, they will not grow.Design: see book
Data Collection and Processing:
pH 2 water Monday, seeds look normal; Weds, seeds look normal; Fri, seeds look moldy
pH 7 water Monday, seeds look normal; Weds, seeds sprouting; Fri, seeds really sprouting
pH 10 water Monday, seeds look normal; Weds, seeds sprouting a little, same with FriThe seeds grew best in pH 7 water.
Conclusion and Evaluation:
The seeds sprouted better in pH 7 than the other pH’s of water. Seeds like regular water better to grow in.There were a lot of human errors in this lab. My partner and I forgot to put in the stuff so that the seeds wouldn’t mold, so a lot of our seeds got moldy.
