Format and Presentation  The report is formatted and presented according to guidelines published in the ISB Scientific Writing Guide for IB.

Writing  The report is written concisely, precisely, and clearly.

Abstract

Abstract    The purpose, methods, and results are summarized clearly and succinctly.  The abstract is less than 100 words.

Introduction

Background  Gives a brief introduction to the investigation and research question.

Research Question  States a focused problem/research question.

Theory   Explains the theory related to the research that can be used to predict a model or result.

Methods

Experimental Setup  Describes and explains the experimental setup.

 Collection of Data  Describes important methods of data collection.

Data Processing   Explains methods used to process the data to obtain final results.

Results and Discussion

Results  Results are clearly presented in a graph.  No raw data shown.

Discussion  Presents appropriate conclusions with evidence.  Discusses levels of confidence and limits of applicability of conclusions.

Conclusion and Evaluation

Concluding  Summarizes main conclusions.
